We always backspace some of the most meaningful phrases - scared to admit them; scared to share them. Purposefully, and subconsciously.
My name is Susanna.
I reblog pretty things that catch my eye, or things that make me laugh, or things that strike a chord in my heart. And, occasionally, I'll write things of my own,
But I won't backspace.

A single event can awaken within us a stranger totally unknown to us. To live is to be slowly born.

When someone requested I created an original tattoo idea, I wanted to make a tattoo that held a strong story behind it. I recently watched a documentary on the atomic bomb testings that took place under the US government on Bikini Island. Soldiers, unaware of the dangers of radiation exposure, were ordered to return to ground zero of the test blast and observed the damage of their military power. They spent about 3 weeks on the ship a few miles out from the explosion, drinking the water, catching fish and washing their clothes with the contaminated water - oblivious to the damage they were doing to themselves. In media, they assured the public the soldiers were taking the highest precautions, yet the men on the ship hadn’t heard the word discussed and strolled through the site in shorts, t-shirts and bare arms.
